Cape Henry Collegiate’s Race at the Cape is celebrating over 19 years as an amazing family-oriented health and wellness activity for both the Cape Henry community and Hampton Roads runners and walkers. This annual event benefits the programs and activities of Cape Henry Collegiate. The 2019 Race at the Cape drew over 470 participants and was the perfect kick-off to the School’s Fall Festival and Alumni Reunion Weekend!
This year’s Race at the Cape was a virtual event. Runners chose their location to run or walk between October 31 and November 30. Those that completed the 5K and/or One-Mile received a custom medal and a race swag bag. At Cape Henry Collegiate, community is one of our core values and this event affords us a great opportunity to come together as a community for a good cause.
Race at the Cape Prep Program
This year, we offered the first
Race At The Cape Prep Program. There is no better feeling than entering an event and being truly prepared. The Prep Program took participants on a four-week journey that slowly and steadily progressed them towards the Race at the Cape 5K. With this program, runners were prepared to confidently complete the 3.1 mile run by the end of November. Students in Grades 9-12 utilized the Teambuildr platform to follow the program and track their progress. Younger students and Cape Henry families were also able to access the Prep Program.
