Chess
Here are five reasons why you should be playing this 1,500-year-old game of strategy and logic! Playing chess improves concentration and memory. It enhances reading and math skills. Chess fosters logic, critical thinking, and creativity. Chess encourages and rewards hard work. The fifth and best reason of all to play chess? It’s just plain fun!

Soccer Shots
The pros from Soccer Shots return to Cape Henry for more fun on the field! This uniquely designed program introduces children to soccer in a fun, safe and controlled environment. Students will learn basic soccer skills, participate in games and enjoy healthy competition. Soccer Shots emphasizes character-forming lessons such as fair play, individual concentration, cooperation and encouragement. Space is limited.

American Girl Doll
Do you love your doll and dream of playdates with friends? You and your new friends can create an imaginary world. Play school with your dolls, go camping or to the pumpkin patch, work at the veterinarian’s office with stuffies and enjoy a tea party. Learn about history through the play with American Girl dolls. Learn to weave and do needlework with your new friends and dolls. Don't have an American Girl doll? Don't worry, any doll will do!

Mallet Madness
Join Mrs. Bayer to sing, dance and play your way through songs and stories using the Orff xylophones and percussion instruments. Students will learn mallet percussion techniques and expand their knowledge of beat, rhythm, melody, harmony and expression through songs, games and storytelling.

Dodgeball
Join us for our ultra-popular program that includes several fun versions of the game dodgeball! The emphasis is on fun, teamwork and exercise. This program helps develop agility, speed and good body awareness, as well as powers of analysis and problem-solving skills. Participants will work on throwing, catching and ball-shielding skills in addition to dodging skills. Participants will use new coated, foam dodgeballs. These balls are perfect for safe, fun play!

Fall Into Art
Do you love art and autumn? Then Fall Into Art is for you! Students will use materials to create fall-inspired art. We will create beautiful nature-inspired pieces using paints, watercolors, pastels and many other fun materials!

Game On: Indoor/Outdoor Adventures
Get ready for fun and friendly competition in Game On, an exciting after-school camp for 1st through 4th graders! Each day is packed with a mix of movement, strategy and laughter as we play everything from classic board games like Connect 4, Sorry! and Guess Who? to outdoor favorites like tag, relay races and scavenger hunts. Whether we’re teaming up indoors or running around outside, campers will build teamwork, sportsmanship and a love of play. Rain or shine, the fun never stops — it’s always Game On!

Rock-It Science: Wacky Fall Labs
Gravity, force, absorption and matter are just a few of the concepts we will explore as we conduct wacky labs! We will make light bend, gummy bears grow, and drops of water fill with color, all while investigating the scientific method. We will also host a special wacky Halloween lab.

Flag Football
It’s football time again at Cape Henry! Students will learn the fundamentals of catching, passing, blocking, deflagging, defensive positioning, punting and kicking. Participants will also have the opportunity to play in skills competitions and scrimmages. Throw on your jersey and grab your flags, because it’s football time!
- Ages: Grades 1-5

Volleyball
The coaches from Tidewater Volleyball Association are bringing the fun and energy of volleyball to young athletes in this uniquely designed after-school program created specifically for children from PK4 to 4th grade. Each session focuses on building confidence, coordination and teamwork through age-appropriate activities and engaging volleyball-based games. In a fun, safe and noncompetitive environment, kids will learn foundational volleyball skills, enjoy plenty of movement, and experience the joy of teamwork.
- Ages: Prekindergarten 4-Grade 5

Registration payment is due at the time of registration. Unpaid enrollments will be removed each Friday.
- Phone and email registrations will not be accepted. Families must register online.

- If your camper shows “Registered,” the spot is reserved!
- If your camper shows, “Enrolled,” and your balance is $0, your spot is reserved.
- If your camper shows, “Enrolled,” and cannot make payment, the program has reached the max enrollment before payment was complete.
- If your camper shows “Waitlisted,” you will receive a prompt should the space become available.
