    2D/3D Design and Engineering | June 21 - 25 | AM

    Join us for a week of fun as students learn how to model digitally in two and three dimensions. Using new modeling skills, students will make their designs come to life with a 3D printer and laser cutter. Several design competitions will take place throughout the week! This camp will be hands-on, digitally oriented, and push campers to collaborate in teams!

    Would you like to become a certified babysitter? An instructor from CPR Anywhere! will instruct boys and girls ages 9 to 14 in the skills of being a confident sitter. This three-day camp will instruct campers in childcare skills, including feeding and bathing a baby, changing a diaper, infant and child CPR, basic first aid, talking to potential clients, and much more. In the end, you will be awarded a certificate and card that you can show to prove you are a certified babysitter! Maximum of 15 campers at each session–so sign up early!

  • Chesapeake Bay Adventure Camps (2 Age Groups)

    Chesapeake Bay Adventure Camps
    Back by popular demand, the Chesapeake Bay Adventure Camp returns for its sixth year on the water. Junior Adventures provides an opportunity for our younger campers to see and experience the Chesapeake Bay environmental region in all of its glory. The Chesapeake Bay Watershed is the largest estuary in North America. Explore this unique watershed environment by both land and water through a variety of exciting outdoor adventures each day. Hike historic trails that buffer the land from the beautiful coastal waters; explore the local environment from the perspective of the newest, most environmentally smart buildings and programs in the world. Do all of this while learning what makes your backyard such a unique environmental treasure!

  • Dance Camps! (Three Camps)

    Dance Intensive | June 21 - 25 - AM | July 26 - 30 - AM
    This one-week summer dance intensive runs for three hours per day. This camp is intended for those who are strongly driven to excel in dance and wish to improve their technical skills, muscle strength, and power. Twyla/Turner shoes and jazz shoes are required. Dance attire ONLY. (Example: Leggings, leotard, jazz pants, tights, dance shorts, or tank)

    Dance Private Lessons 
    Each lesson is one hour long, with availability beginning at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 12:00 p.m. These private dance lessons are intended for those beginner to advanced and strongly driven to improve their skills with individualized attention. We will focus on technique, muscle strength, conditioning, turns, and leaps. Not sure if you want to dance alone? Then, sign up with a friend! Each hour long session may have TWO dancers.  If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact Mrs. Ericka Ricks on availability and to set up a time. Lessons will begin in June and run through August.

  • Dolphin All-Star Field Hockey Camp | August 2 - 6 | AM

    Dolphin All-Star Field Hockey Camp | August 2 - 6 | AM

    Coaches will focus on fundamentals and small number situations, full field games, and mix in plenty of fun. Campers will be grouped based on age and ability. Cape Henry’s state-of-the-art turf complex provides a true playing surface for field hockey. Plenty of air-conditioned indoor space means that camp will never be rained out or shortened due to a high heat index or poor air quality. The air-conditioned gymnasium provides an opportunity for campers to learn the indoor game as well as the outdoor game–it’s like two camps in one! Don’t miss this phenomenal field hockey opportunity!

    Lace-up your sneakers and get ready to go! Cape Henry Collegiate Varsity Girls’ Basketball Associate Head Coach, Darrian Freeman, offers a rewarding week of basketball to enhance your basketball knowledge and skills. Campers will enjoy learning from the best while also enhancing their basketball IQ through drills, individual competitions, and games. An added emphasis on structured games, balanced with competition and skills makes this an enjoyable week for everyone!

    Dolphin Tennis Academy | June 21 -25 - AM | June 28 - July 2 - AM | July 12 - 16 - AM | July 19 - 23 - AM

    During the tennis sessions, beginner and novice campers will learn the proper way to hold and swing a racquet, as well as basic ball drills and games. Advanced tennis players will work on strategy, court positioning, and shot selection, and they will be matched up with camp staff who are current or former high school or college players. Campers will enjoy individual and small-group lessons as they build upon the initial success and develop a lifelong love of tennis! Campers will participate daily in light ball drills and supervised match play, and all levels of play are invited.

    Elite Wrestling Camp | August 2 - 6 - AM
    The Elite Wrestling Camp is geared towards Middle and Upper School wrestlers who wish to challenge themselves to be winners at the High School level. The camp will focus on developing good technique, hard drilling, and live wrestling.

    Youth Wrestling Camp | July 19 - 23 - AM
    This program is geared towards Lower and Middle School aged campers. Wrestlers will learn the basics through skill training and practice sessions. They will be physically challenged through sport-specific games, competitions, and great fun! Participating in this camp will improve your strength, conditioning, technique, and competitive spirit.

    Basketball Basics provides a wonderful introduction to the basic skills of passing, dribbling, shooting, and games. Beginning players will enjoy learning from the Dynamic Basketball staff as they make this introduction to basketball fun with an emphasis on structured games.

    If you love to write stories or poetry, join our weekly group for creative writing activities and challenges. Middle School writers will explore various prompts - fiction, description, opinion, and photo - and experiment with different styles of writing. During our last session, participants will be encouraged to display their best creative writing on the Middle School hallway bulletin board. Additionally, students will select pieces to share with the Cape Henry Community through a digital link in the Dolphin Digest. Composition books and folders will be provided - bring your favorite pens or pencils to unleash your creative side.

    Join Cape Henry Collegiate Director of Fitness and Performance, Phil Reichhoff, for summer strength and conditioning! Whether you are looking for an intro to strength training, to get ahead of the competition, or get back in shape for the upcoming season, this camp will prepare you to be at your best! This week-to-week program is open to ladies and gentlemen, from beginner to expert. This program provides the unique opportunity to have a regimen tailored specifically to fit your personal fitness level and goals!

    Drawing Dynamics | June 21 - 25 | AM
    This is it! If you want to draw better, you must first learn how to see and think like an artist. We will go big and bold while exploring the foundation of the rest of the visual arts. Learn all the techniques needed to draw anything you want. Plus, use a wide variety of drawing media in new and exciting ways! If you are ready to take your drawing skills to greater heights, this is the class for you!

    Airbrush | June 21 - 25 | PM
    Come explore your artistic side with the power of an airbrush at your fingertips! Working with an airbrush is a wonderfully exciting and creative experience. You will learn how to paint popular airbrush subjects like sunsets, seascapes, pillow hearts, space scenes, animal and people portraits, names and letterforms, flowers, and many other creative exercises designed to pull out the artist in you.

    Ceramics | July 12 - 16 | AM
    Artists will envelop themselves in the world of clay while learning the techniques and tools commonly used in ceramics. Students will create imaginative works using a variety of methods, including hand building, modeling, hollowing, extrusion and slab building, wheel throwing, press molding, slip casting, and glazing. (Limited to 10 registrations)

    Oil Painting | July 12 - 16 | PM
    Oil paint is a beautiful and versatile medium. A painting foundation will be presented that can easily be built upon for pursuits beyond this class. Students will create a series of paintings with the instructor that will cover a variety of subjects and painting techniques. Drawing will be taught as it applies to the subjects illustrated. Students will work from life when we take a trip outdoors to paint, and they will learn ways to look within themselves for inspiration in more intuitive painting exercises. *A list of supplies for the camp will be sent out prior to the camp’s start date.

    Art Explosion | July 26 - 30 | AM
    Do you have an interest in the visual arts and look forward to trying new things? This Art Explosion class offers the opportunity to try techniques and media not typically offered in your regular art classes. This program will have you painting with light, using professional-style airbrush techniques, throwing on the potter’s wheel, and much more! 

    Digital Photography | July 26 - 30 | PM
    Students will learn the fundamentals of digital photography and computer-aided manipulation. This class will cover various modes of shooting found on most digital SLR cameras: exposure control, composition, motion and portrait photography, downloading, printing, Photoshop manipulation, and photo presentation. Students should provide their own digital SLR camera with a charged battery.

    This program is focused on exploring the many facets of leading a fulfilling, healthy, and productive lifestyle. At this exciting, intense, and difficult stage of life, we will learn and discuss serious social, emotional, physical and societal concerns. Topics include illegal substances, growth and development, physical activity, nutrition, preventing violence and abuse, and mental and emotional development. Students will also complete the American Heart Association’s curriculum for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR). Classroom Health sessions run from 8:00 a.m. - noon on Monday through Friday of each week, and office hours are available from noon - 1:00 p.m. for extra help.

    Volleyball Camp | July 6 - 10

    The Volleyball Camp covers all aspects of the game of volleyball with an emphasis on fundamentals and game situation play. The camp welcomes players of all ability levels, from beginner to experienced, and players will be grouped by skill to better meet the individual needs of each participant. The techniques and skills taught in this camp are designed to provide and improve upon the foundation that allows participants to develop into high-level athletes. All basic skills will be covered including passing, setting, hitting, serving, defense, blocking, and offensive and defensive systems. Campers will also have the opportunity to dig deep and work hard in a positive and encouraging environment.
