  • All Sports Camp II (August 5 - 9)

    The All Sports Camp is designed to provide campers with a fundamental skill set for each of the major sports as well as some lifetime activities. Over the course of the week, campers will participate in baseball/softball, basketball, floor hockey, soccer, ultimate frisbee, and more. In addition to practicing the skills for each sport, campers will participate in daily contests and games to test their mastery and improvement in a fun and relaxing atmosphere. Campers are required to bring sneakers and a snack. Come join us for another great summer of All Sports Camp!

  • Fashion Mania (June 24 - 28)

    Lights, camera, action! Do you want to express your creativity and become a trendsetter in the world of fashion? If so, whether you are a total beginner or have experience, this is the camp for you! Campers use their imagination to brainstorm ideas and bring fashion to life. We will learn how to walk the runway, and we will discuss exciting topics about the latest fashion trends and icons. Campers will design their own t-shirt, purse, and so much more! Families are invited to a fashion show on the last day of camp to see the final products.

  • Flag Football (July 1 - 5)

    Are you looking for some gridiron action during the dog days of summer? Here is a chance for every quarterback and linebacker in the making to learn the fundamentals of football in a safe and fun environment. Flag football offers the core skills of passing, catching, and defensive positioning. This camp is designed to prepare kids to be champions both on and off the field by teaching them the importance of fair play, teamwork, and sportsmanship. This camp provides exhilarating and action-packed games that give campers a chance to show off their skills and maybe even their end-zone dance! Score some touchdowns with us this summer!

    Have you ever wanted to build the projects you dream about? If so, join this brand new program and create the objects from your imagination. Build with Legos, K’nex, “Big Blue Blocks,” and so much more! Innovation Creations will allow campers to build all the amazing structures you have ever imagined in a fun atmosphere. Once you have built the structure, grab a friend and develop all the fun and creative ways to utilize the creation.   • Lower School Summer Academic Workshop I (July 8 - 19)

    Get prepared for the new school year by diving into reading/writing and mathematics. The “Reading/Writing Workshop” helps students become power readers and writers, increasing their phonetic skills, comprehension strategies, and writing abilities. Students respond to reading through a variety of creative channels including verbal, written, and hands-on activities. Diverse reading selections from the CHC Summer Reading Lists and other literary choices ensure an enjoyable and stimulating reading performance. In addition, teachers provide instruction on organizing and writing paragraphs, proofreading, and editing written work, and the reinforcement of grammar and punctuation rules. Students choose topics of their own interest and imagination to enjoy creative and expressive writing. The “Math Workshop” uses a multi-sensory, hands-on approach, making math all add up to fun. Students learn math concepts and problem-solving skills with meaningful connections that illustrate the value of mathematics to their world. The instruction and reinforcement of activities will concentrate on preparing students for the rigors of the mathematics curriculum for the coming year. The students split their time between the two blocks on a daily basis and will have the opportunity to work on their required summer reading, writing, and math assignments.

Award-winning professional magician Mr. Rob Westcott teaches young magicians various skills and helps them to build self-confidence in a fun and supportive environment. Each child receives a magic case to decorate and fill with a magic wand and tricks they learn throughout the week. On the last day of camp, join us for a magic show where the children perform the magic they have learned! Students who have taken Magic Camp before are also welcomed back.   • Pets on Parade (July 15 - 19)

    Every child wants a pet! Whether or not you already have your own, this half-day program is about learning to love and give lots of proper care to a variety of pets. This is the class for kids who love animals. Enjoy field trips to the local SPCA, animal hospitals, and farms, where you will meet animals, help local organizations working with animals, and learn pet CPR and other important animal care techniques.     Join the sensation sweeping the nation since 1996. Spend the week with everyone's favorite virtual friend, their favorite card games, and video games. From dressing as their favorite Pokemon to playing Pokemon themed games to creating Pokemon art for their rooms at home, campers will have the opportunity to do it all! Our Pokemon experienced staff will lead a week-long program featuring all things Pokemon! Your camper will never have had this much Pokemon content in one week. If Pokemon is their game, if Pokemon is their hobby, this is the place to be!

    Okay, so we won’t be in your backyard, but this camp will be full of good old-fashioned backyard fun! This year’s new labs will include making bug catchers, mixing up a batch of mud slime, and designing rain gages! We will finish up the week with a fun indoor obstacle course full of treasures!   • Rock-It Science: I Love the Earth (August 5 - 9)

    Get ready to explore this great big beautiful planet earth! This year we will be inspired by some of our natural wonders! We will mix up some Mt. Everest snow, create Aurora Borealis masterpieces, and use chemical reactions to create our own Victoria Falls. We will design a cool earth t-shirt too!     What’s more fascinating than the great beyond? We will explore the solar system as we conduct science and art labs inspired by outer space.     Today there are more than 465 known species of sharks living in our oceans. We will sink our teeth into interesting facts about sharks and create shark habitat bottles. Join us as we maneuver through a seaweed course, create shark art, and conduct experiments that will teach us about these beautiful ocean creatures.     If you missed out last year on this fun adventurous camp, it’s not too late to get the training you need to earn your Super Spy Status! Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to explore glow-in-the-dark science, go on scavenger hunts, and decode clues that lead to top-secret messages! Get those spy decoding notebooks out and be ready for some secret agent spy training as we sneak through obstacle courses and use our observation skills to figure out clues to a top secret mystery!     Let there be slime! By far, slime is the most requested science experiment! What’s not fun about slime? It’s slimy, stretching, sometimes bouncy, and the coolest polymer around! Each day we will explore a different type based on all new fun themes. We will do some cool art labs inspired by the day’s theme, too!   • Rock-It Science: The Great Volcano Experiment (June 24 - 28)

    The classic volcano experiment has always been a favorite! Children love to explode things and see them erupt, and we will put this classic experiment to the test. This year each camper will build an individual volcano that they will be able to erupt over and over again! We will build a large group volcano that we will erupt twice this year using a heated reaction and the classic Mento/Coke reaction! Along with testing out various reactions on our volcanos, we will play games, create art, and learn about some real active volcanoes! Sign up today for an explosively good time!

  • Soccer Shots Summer Camp (August 5 - 9)

    The pros from Soccer Shots are returning to Cape Henry for the summer programs after another fantastic school year. This uniquely designed program introduces children to soccer in a fun, safe, and controlled environment. Students will learn basic soccer skills, participate in fun games, and enjoy healthy competition. Soccer Shots emphasizes character-forming lessons such as fair play, individual concentration, cooperation, and encouragement. Space is limited, so sign up early!

    Calling all Master Builders! Sylvan is looking for builders eager to learn about simple machines. In this camp, they will learn about gears, pulleys, levers, and wheel & axels. Builders will discover the amazing world of engineering using their imagination to build theme-based creations using LEGOs®. Along the way, they’ll solve problems like real engineers and learn cool new STEM skills!

  • Sylvan: Radical Robotics (July 29 - August 2)

    Ready to build robots? Integrating engineering, technology, computer science, and math, Sylvan Robotics Camp gives students the skills to begin to understand information-based technology for the future. Campers will work with a buddy to build and program LEGO® robots. They will use simple machines such as levers, pulleys and wheels and axles to create movement in their bots. They will learn how to program their robots to move, make sounds, and respond to sensors! Students will build intricate designs like a ferris wheel, a moon rover, and even a few crazy zoo animals! Campers will develop critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration skills to express their creativity.

  • The 29th Annual Virginia All-Star Soccer Camp: Indoor (July 22 - 26)

    The longest running and most enjoyable coed soccer camp in Virginia Beach returns for its 29th year of camp instruction. We take great pride in offering the best soccer camp experience in Hampton Roads. Our facilities include four plush green soccer fields, six air-conditioned courts for indoor soccer, an air-conditioned auditorium with large-screen projection for rest and film sessions, and a spacious cafeteria serving hot lunch daily. Our camp staff is comprised of highly trained professional, college, and high school players and coaches who are positive role models and understand our camp philosophy of learning the game of soccer in a clean, safe, and enjoyable atmosphere. Our staff prides itself on creating positive and long-lasting relationships with campers and parents. From the beginning player to the advanced player, the curriculum is designed to teach skills and strategies used at the individual and team levels. Each day begins with fundamental instruction and follows a planned sequence of activities that builds confidence and enthusiasm for the game of soccer. We offer an action-packed week where players leave feeling great about their camp experience. Full-day campers receive lunch and drinks daily, while half-day campers receive a snack and drink daily.
