  • Art Adventures: Winter Wonderland

    Do you love Winter? Join Ms.Buchardt to explore all aspects of the Magical Winter Wonderland through various art activities.  There is something for everyone, from clay to paint!

  • Augmented/Virtual Reality

    Want to create your own augmented or virtual reality world? Join Mrs. Schnekser to learn how to create, animate, and explore the world of augmented and virtual reality!

  • Beads, Beads, Beads

    Want to create beautiful jewelry? How about beautiful works of art with Perler beads? If so, this program is for you! Learn the endless possibilities of all assortments of beads in this new creative program!

  • Coding Fun

    This program is designed to develop and foster creativity and problem-solving skills in a fun and engaging environment. The students will learn basic coding to build their own characters, video games, and more!

  • Crazy Crafters

    Crazy Crafters will delve into an exploration of various techniques and methods of crafting while exploring the various traditions around the world. Join Mrs. Ashmore Taylor in this exciting and crafty session!

  • Creative Writing

    If you love to write stories or poetry, join our weekly group for creative writing activities and challenges.  Middle School writers will explore various prompts - fiction, description, opinion, and photo - and experiment with different styles of writing. During our last session, participants will be encouraged to display their best creative writing on the Middle School hallway bulletin board. Additionally, students will select pieces to share with the Cape Henry Community through a digital link in the Dolphin Digest. Composition books and folders will be provided - bring your favorite pens or pencils to unleash your creative side

  • LEGO Stop Animation

    Want to create your own story? This program is for you! Join Ms. Buchardt in this brand new adventure using LEGO to create amazing stop animation videos. Place your character in the MLB World Series, the NBA Championship, in the Land of Dinosaurs, or even on the moon. The possibilities are endless in the imaginative adventure!

  • Lower School Chess

    Join one of CHC’s most popular afterschool programs as Mr. V offers another round of “the game of Kings.” Around for centuries, chess teaches critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as mathematical and logical reasoning. Beginners and experts alike will learn how each piece moves along with game strategies, tactics, castling, en passant, promotions, and much more. Get ready to take on your classmate in a friendly game of chess while getting ready for the highly anticipated class tournament.

  • Message in Motion: Hip-Hop Dance

    Our most popular class!! Students will learn hip hop dance technique including break dancing, footwork, and floorwork, freezes, as well as iconic hip hop movements including the moonwalk, the cabbage patch, the kid in play, the snake, and more! Students collaborate and learn funky routines to some of the best beats around, and let their inner star shine through breakdance battles and more. Additional emphasis on style, contemporary choreography, movement vocabulary, beginner strengthening and conditioning, rhythm, personal expression, and having fun! The class culminates with a special performance for parents on the last day of the session where students will showcase learned routines as well as other material learned throughout the session, and be presented with a certificate. Don't miss out on this unique, super fun class!

  • Middle School Design Thinking

    Are you ready to take on the Design Thinking challenge? Students will practice skills of engineering through designing, prototyping, testing, and redesigning rockets, vehicles, bridges, and so much more to meet daily challenges as well as a culminating weeklong challenge. Be prepared to launch yourself into this exciting Design Thinking experience!

  • Rock-It Science: Magic School Bus Pt. 2

    Based on Ms. Frizzle’s wild and crazy adventures we will conduct all new labs. We had so much fun with part one we can't wait to do more fun labs! With so many Magic School Bus themes to choose from the possibilities are endless!

  • Soccer Shots

    The pros from Soccer Shots return to Cape Henry after a fantastic fall session. This uniquely designed program introduces children to soccer in a fun, safe, and controlled environment. Students will learn basic soccer skills, participate in fun games, enjoy healthy competition, and get much-needed exercise. Soccer Shots emphasizes character-forming lessons such as fair play, individual concentration, cooperation, and encouragement. Sign up early! PLEASE NOTE: This is an outdoor program.

  • Sylvan: Maker Space

    Join the maker space phenomenon where students gather to create, tinker and explore new concepts using cool materials! In this highly interactive, hands-on camp, your budding engineer will go on mini maker “missions" to explore science concepts like speed, motion, chemistry, gravity electricity, and sound. Each session has a clever theme-based challenge to inspire your child’s creativity! Get ready to set their imaginations soaring!

  • Teen Studio: Paint Night

    Young artists will envelop themselves in the world of painting while learning the techniques and tools commonly used. In this Bob Ross inspired program, students will have the opportunity to follow along to create beautiful works of art. If following along is not your style, you will have the opportunity to create your own work of art based on the week’s theme!

  • Winter Sports Blast

    Back by popular demand, Mr. V offers one of the most popular afterschool programs this winter season. Get ready for football playoffs with exciting flag football action. Warm-up your arm for those upcoming snowball fights with a few rounds of dodgeball. Zero in on an all-time favorite as you hit the diamond for some kickball. Frost and snow might be around the corner, but the action is heating up outside. Don’t miss out on a great chance to play some of the games you love as you return from Winter Break. Sign up now!
