  • Before and After Care Programs

    This program is a service provided for parents who require extended care for children, rising Prekindergarten through Grade 5, before and after regular Summer Program hours. The exceptional staff plans outdoor play, craft projects, and much more each day. Before and After Care is available for the duration of our Summer at the Cape schedule, beginning on Monday, June 3 and ending on Friday, August 9. An afternoon snack is provided for the campers. All children must be toilet trained. Before-Camp care will begin at 7:30 am and conclude at the start of camp at 9:00 am, where our staff will direct campers to the correct camps. After-Camp Care will begin at 3:30 pm and conclude at 5:30 pm. A late fee of $30 will be charged every ten (10) minutes past 5:30 pm.

    After-Camp Care: 3:30 - 5:30 p.m.
    Tuition: $65 per week

    Day Camp Discount Options: Only 30 spaces available!

    Day Camp Discount Package Information:
    • Available to Little Dolphins, Sandfiddlers, Dolphins, or Sharks.
    • Before and After Care must be included to receive the Day Camp Discount package.
    • Refunds and substitutions are not permitted with the Day Camp Discount packages.
    • Registering for consecutive weeks is not required.
    • Discounts will be applied when registering for five (10%), seven (15%), or nine (20%) weeks of camps.

  • A Novel Idea

    Calling all thinkers, readers, and avid dreamers. Boys and girls who love books and words will long for this experience as we analyze, predict, and discuss the characters. If the book we choose has been made into a movie, we will spend our final day enjoying the film while drinking our fresh, "homemade" smoothies! If you like these activities AND creating crafty projects too, then join Ms. Elliott and bring a friend with you!

  • American Girl Doll Camp

    Do you love your doll and spend time dreaming of new ways to style and accessorize? Do you and your friends dream up new worlds with your dolls, creating tea parties, going to the beach, or catching the great new movie in the theaters? If so, this camp is for you. Make accessories, read stories, and learn all about the history of American Girl dolls. In this camp, you will design and build your own doll house using boxes and reclaimed materials, and you will find new, inventive ways to make accessories and enhance your doll’s fashion. Don’t have an American Girl doll of your own? Don’t worry! Any doll will do in this popular returning program, so join now!

  • Art Adventures: Art is Everywhere

    Do you have a passion for art? Have you always wanted to make your own design come to life, create a new style, or learn more about the common methods? If so, this is the camp for you! Learn the basics of art and be creative with all kinds of materials, using whatever is around you to create art. You will be able to put your own unique twist on each creation in this fun-filled program!

  • Art Adventures: Fairytale Fantasies

    Travel the world with us in this one-of-a-kind art program. Buckle your seatbelts and prepare to take off for a trip around the globe to get creative while exploring the arts and crafts of the most popular fairytales. Tired of the same fairytales?   • Art Adventures: Under the Sea!

    Do you love the sea? So do we! Join us to create all kinds of fun, marine-themed art! Get your hands dirty while drawing and using clay and paint, and tap into your creativity and imagination while creating cool crafts and collages.   • Babysitting

    Would you like to become a certified babysitter? An instructor from CPR Anywhere! will instruct boys and girls ages 9 to 14 in the skills of being a confident sitter. This three-day camp will instruct campers in childcare skills, including feeding and bathing a baby, changing a diaper, infant and child CPR, basic first aid, talking to potential clients, and much more. In the end, you will be awarded a certificate and card that you can show to prove you are a certified babysitter! Maximum of 15 campers at each session–so sign up early!

    This exciting camp enters its fifth year after four exciting summers on the Bay! The Chesapeake Bay Adventure Camp offers the opportunity to see and experience the Chesapeake Bay environmental region in all of its glory. The Chesapeake Bay Watershed is the largest estuary in North America. Explore this unique watershed environment by both land and water through a variety of exciting outdoor adventures each day. Hike historic trails that buffer the land from the beautiful coastal waters; go fishing in the Chesapeake Bay; explore the local environment from the perspective of the newest, most environmentally smart buildings and programs in the world; and challenge yourself on the obstacles at The Adventure Park!     It’s time to whip up some fun and something good to eat! Campers will enjoy the opportunity to test their culinary skills while learning how to work in the kitchen, use measuring cups and spoons, and prepare healthy snacks and tasty treats. Creativity abounds as campers use their senses to create new dishes and tasty cuisine. Your child will love newfound independence in the kitchen, and you will enjoy the benefits of your child’s culinary skills–there will be plenty to share and bring home!

  • Dance for Beginners

    This one-week camp teaches young dancers about dance terminology, beginning technique, and introduces them to the fun and exciting world of dance! The camp includes ballet, jazz, and lyrical. Dancers will also enjoy a daily dance education time during which they will learn about additional dance styles, read exciting dance stories, and watch amazing dance videos. The last day of the camp will include a short dance performance. Ballet and jazz shoes required.

  • Dance Intensive

    This one-week summer Dance Intensive runs for three hours, five days a week. Each day camp consists of one hour of Ballet Barre or Lyrical/Contemporary, one hour of jazz, and 45 minutes of choreography. Dance Intensive is intended for those who are strongly driven to excel in dance and wish to improve their technical skills, muscle strength, and power. Ballet (or twylas) and jazz shoes required.

  • Dance Intensive- Musical Theatre

    This one-week camp will focus on the theatrical dance style that includes dance technique and acting to songs from Broadway musicals. Dancers will learn about the musical theatre dance style, watch dance videos from Broadway musicals, and will even get to take a class from a current Broadway dancer/singer/actress. This camp is intended for those who are strongly driven to excel in the art dance and that wish to improve their technical skills.   • Digital Assistants: Hey Siri, Let’s Build An AI

    The ultimate Artificial Intelligence (AI) camp. Can you tell the difference between a human and a robot? Learn about the design and programming behind modern digital assistant software like Alexa, Siri, and Cortana in this innovative camp. Students build their own artificial intelligence personality that can answer questions, complete requests, and chat about topics of their choosing using real HTML and JavaScript code. No prior experience is required. We provide all technology on location. Campers will be thrilled to bring home their digital portfolio at the end of the week and continue to work on their AI creation or to share with friends or family. * Note: Drobots believes in the educational philosophy that students learn best when collaborating with their peers. From a social standpoint, campers learn teamwork, cooperation, and the importance of sharing and implementing ideas.   • Drobots: Drone Escape and Rescue

    Drone Escape and Rescue is a necessity for first responders around the world, adding a new layer of solutions to save lives across the globe. Now campers to can take part in and learn from simulated missions during this action-packed, creative, and educational program. Participants will learn to fly drones and rely on their rescue team to collect vital data in specific “rescue areas” to locate “victims” and safely rescue them. We use age-appropriate and cutting-edge technology methods available for creating plans, missions, and maps. Participants will also learn invaluable lessons on how to simply, quickly and accurately make informed and targeted suggestions for positive real-world applications.

  • Drobots: Drone Racing and Obstacle Course Challenge

    Drone Racing is filled with pure action as students enjoy one of the world’s fastest growing sports, Drone Racing. Campers will first learn about the basic safety of drone flying and the history behind drone racing as a sport. From there, campers will progress through various skill challenges and learn how to perform various exercises and maneuvers to become familiar with the drone’s speed and agility. Flight squads post up against one another in a friendly competition when they race themselves and the clock. Students first maneuver the drone through creative obstacle courses before taking on the challenge of flying for speed. Participants contribute fully in this program as they create the design and help build the obstacle course in preparation for the last day’s final activities and competition. All campers go home with interactive workbooks and plenty of Drobots Company keepsakes and trinkets, so the memories last long beyond the summer. Drone safety and social responsibilities of flying are included in this program.

  • Drobots: Ultimate Drone Obstacle Challenge

    Ultimate Drone Obstacle Challenge is specifically designed for both the novice and experienced drone enthusiasts. This is week is filled with pure action as students enjoy one of the world’s fastest growing sports, Drone Obstacle Racing. Campers will first learn about the basic safety of drone flying and the history behind drone racing as a sport. From there, campers will progress through various skill challenges and learn how to perform various exercises and maneuvers to become familiar with the drone’s speed and agility. Campers will use iPads and remote controls to navigate the drone through short and long obstacle courses. Participants will also create the design and help build the obstacle course in preparation for the last day’s final activity and competition. Drone safety and the social responsibilities of flying drones are included in this program.

    Lights, camera, action! Do you want to express your creativity and become a trendsetter in the world of fashion? If so, whether you are a total beginner or have experience, this is the camp for you! Campers use their imagination to brainstorm ideas and bring fashion to life. We will learn how to walk the runway, and we will discuss exciting topics about the latest fashion trends and icons. Campers will design their own t-shirt, purse, and so much more! Families are invited to a fashion show on the last day of camp to see the final products.

    Games, Games, Games features a variety of both indoor and outdoor fun! Campers will get to enjoy the fresh air with games like Kickball, Flag Tag, 4-Square, and more! Back inside, the fun continues with board games like Clue, Sorry, and so much more. The campers will test their competitive sides as they play Battleship, or can choose to chill out with a more relaxed game of Life.   • Girls Just Want to Have Fun

    Calling all girls for strictly girl fun! Campers will make delicious treats and healthy snacks to eat. Campers will demonstrate their creative side to make photo memory collages and cool arts and crafts, too. Looking your best is always a blast, so hairstyling and colorful nails are must-do activities. Reading short stories about fabulous girls will give us quiet time to listen, reflect, and talk. Group games along with fun and healthy ways to exercise will round out our days. Get a friend and come have some fun with girls only!

    Have you always wanted to make your own videos? Join us for a fun-filled week of video capturing and editing. You will become a video professional, shooting and editing your own cool videos in iMovie! We will add music, sound effects, transitions, and text to movies. You can even learn to make a video in slow motion! Beginners and experts are all invited to join in the fun world of moviemaking.

  • Let's Write! Creative Writing for Middle School Students

    If you love to write stories or poetry, join our weekly group for creative writing activities and challenges. Middle School writers will explore various prompts - fiction, description, opinion, and photo - and experiment with different styles of writing. During our last session, participants will be encouraged to display their best creative writing on the Middle School hallway bulletin board. Additionally, students will select pieces to share with the Cape Henry Community through a digital link in the Dolphin Digest. Composition books and folders will be provided - bring your favorite pens or pencils to unleash your creative side.

  • Little Scholars: Mini-Med School

    Is there a doctor in camp? Join us this summer as we bring Mini-Med School to camp! Our little doctors will use stuffed animal patients to take blood pressure readings, give “stitches,” put on a cast and make their own first aid kit, all while learning lots about what doctors, dentists, EMTs, and other medical professionals do on a daily basis. Join us in this fun-filled camp!

  • Magic Camp

    Abracadabra, Alakazam, hocus pocus! Sit back and enjoy the magical transformation as campers become magicians right before your very eyes! Campers learn amazing magic tricks they can perform for family and friends. Award-winning professional magician Mr. Rob Westcott teaches young magicians various skills and helps them to build self-confidence in a fun and supportive environment. Each child receives a magic case to decorate and fill with a magic wand and tricks they learn throughout the week. On the last day of camp, join us for a magic show where the children perform the magic they have learned! Students who have taken Magic Camp before are also welcomed back. Mr. Westcott has many new tricks for returning students. Space is limited so register today!

    Calling all beginners, intermediate or advanced Minecrafters. Campers learn how to build and engineer projects including building to scale, mining materials, strategic planning and mapping, developing access points, preparing for the elements, and fireproofing structures. Campers will have the ability to learn about customizing maps and biomes in Minecraft™. Improve skills in survival mode and learn how to craft items that will help you survive, sustain, and prosper! Survival worlds vary based upon your level of experience. Prepare for an exciting week as campers accomplish exciting results building their one-of-a-kind Minecraft features!     StemQuest unplugs campers from the computer screen in this narrative-based program. We have intentionally extracted the wide-array of exhilarating challenges and mysteries from gaming and esports and generated a live adventure. Campers will use rovers, bots, drones, and other autonomous creative technology to jump over obstacles, push down walls, lift up boulders, toss energy balls, and navigate through mazes.   • Teen Studio: Darkroom Photography

    Young photographers become dynamic designers with the medium of light as they explore black-and-white darkroom photography as well as digital SLR photography. This class will cover composition, pinhole and SLR cameras, shooting and processing 35mm film, enlarging prints, burning and dodging, photograms, solarizing, toning, hand-coloring, digital manipulation, and photo presentation. Parents should attempt to locate an old SLR or point-and-shoot film camera with a good battery. If there isn’t a film camera already in the family, please don’t purchase one. Some cameras can be provided by the class, so contact Mr. Warden if one is needed.

  • Teen Studio: Digital Photography

    Students will learn the fundamentals of digital photography and computer-aided manipulation. This class will cover various modes of shooting found on most digital SLR cameras: exposure control, composition, motion and portrait photography, downloading, printing, Photoshop manipulation, and photo presentation. Students should provide their own digital SLR camera with a charged battery. A small number of cameras can be provided by the class; please contact Mr. Warden as soon as possible if one is needed.

  • Teen Studio: Oil Painting

    Oil paint is a beautiful and versatile medium. A painting foundation will be presented that can easily be built upon for pursuits beyond this class. Students will create a series of paintings with the instructor that will cover a variety of subjects and painting techniques. Drawing will be taught as it applies to the subjects illustrated. Students will work from life when we take a trip outdoors to paint, and they will learn ways to look within themselves for inspiration in more intuitive painting exercises. *A list of supplies for the camp will be sent out prior to the camp’s start date.

  • Theater for the Actor (Two-Weeks)

    This two-week program will strengthen the skills of the actor. We will focus on age-appropriate scene work, guided improvisation, voice projection, singing, and dancing. This invigorating camp will help performers fine-tune their confidence, talent, and creativity. On the last day, students will perform before an audience.

  • World of Wizards

    Calling all wizard fans! This is like no other camp you have experienced. We will take a magical journey into the world of wizards. We will design wands, make magic potions, go on a magical creature hunt, play Quidditch, and participate in activities that will astound all Muggles.
