This program is a service provided for parents who require extended care for children, rising Prekindergarten through Grade 5, before and after regular Summer Program hours. The exceptional staff plans outdoor play, craft projects, and much more each day. Before and After Care is available for the duration of our Summer at the Cape schedule, beginning on Monday, June 3 and ending on Friday, August 9. An afternoon snack is provided for the campers. All children must be toilet trained. Before-Camp care will begin at 7:30 am and conclude at the start of camp at 9:00 am, where our staff will direct campers to the correct camps. After-Camp Care will begin at 3:30 pm and conclude at 5:30 pm. A late fee of $30 will be charged every ten (10) minutes past 5:30 pm.

The All Sports Camp is designed to provide campers with a fundamental skill set for each of the major sports as well as some lifetime activities. Over the course of the week, campers will participate in baseball/softball, basketball, floor hockey, soccer, ultimate frisbee, and more. In addition to practicing the skills for each sport, campers will participate in daily contests and games to test their mastery and improvement in a fun and relaxing atmosphere. Join us for our ultra-popular program that includes several crazy, fun versions of the game dodgeball! The emphasis is on fun, teamwork, and exercise. This camp helps develop agility, speed, and good body awareness as well as powers of analysis and problem-solving skills. Campers will work on throwing, catching, and ball-shielding skills in addition to dodging skills, all while using new-coated foam dodgeballs. These balls are perfect for safe, FUN play! The CHC Hitting Camp will cover all the bases from approach and sound mechanics to pitch selection and situational hitting. Campers will learn there is more to being a quality hitter than just having a good swing. The staff will break down every aspect of being an effective offensive player. The Dolphin Bowling Camp will teach the fundamentals of bowling from the traditional approach and swing to the release. Students will learn how to align themselves properly to hit their target, how to keep score, and the proper lane courtesy. Bowling teaches the life skills of teamwork and a stable mindset. This is great for introverted children. It is also one of the few sports that is an individual and team orientated sport. These coaches and volunteers are required by the United States Bowling Congress to have background checks before being able to work with youth. The coaching staff is co-coached by bronze and silver level coaches both with experience in collegiate bowling. Coaches include members of an NAIA collegiate bowling program as well as an NCAA D1 bowler and Alumni of Cape Henry. Bowling equipment is provided in the cost, and all skill levels are welcome.
Lacrosse is the fastest growing sport in the country at the youth and high school levels; don’t miss out on the action-packed fun the sport offers. The camp is run by Cape Henry Varsity Boys Lacrosse Head Coach and former UVA Men’s Lacrosse Midfielder, Mr. Joe Thompson, along with current and former CHC players, all of whom have a passion for the game. Our philosophy is that to love the game, you must respect your competition and have fun playing, and that is what we strive for every day. The focus of the camp is to learn fundamental skills while enjoying the excitement of the game and to benefit from the camaraderie and lessons that lacrosse offers. Beginner and experienced campers will enjoy skill-building sessions, counselor demonstrations, and the opportunity to test their skills in numerous game-like scenarios. All players are required to wear full lacrosse equipment (helmet, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, and lacrosse stick).
Cape Henry Collegiate’s cheer staff will guide campers through a week of instruction in the fundamentals of cheerleading. Participants will focus on proper stretching and safety strategies, cheers, chants, jumps, as well as learn an exciting dance routine. At the conclusion of the week, campers will electrify their parents, families, and fans in a spirit pep rally. The pep rally will showcase the variety of material learned throughout the week.
The Cape Henry Girls Lacrosse program looks forward to hosting a fun-filled week of camp that will suit the development of beginners through elite level players. CHC lacrosse staff and players will instruct on the basic fundamentals of the game to meet each athlete at her ability level. Basic fundamentals will be put to use in small-sided competitions, full field games, and other skill-building activities. The Cape Henry Collegiate Tennis program is excited to offer the Dolphin Tennis Academy with PTR-certified Head Coach Diane Deaton. During the tennis sessions, beginner and novice campers will learn the proper way to hold and swing a racquet, as well as basic ball drills and games. Advanced tennis players will work on strategy, court positioning, and shot selection, and they will be matched up with camp staff who are current or former high school or college players. Campers will enjoy individual and small-group lessons as they build upon the initial success and develop a lifelong love of tennis! The Volleyball Camp covers all aspects of the game of volleyball with an emphasis on fundamentals and game situation play. The camp welcomes players of all ability levels, from beginner to experienced, and players will be grouped by skill to better meet the individual needs of each participant. The technique and skills taught in this camp are designed to provide and improve upon the foundation that allows participants to develop into high-level athletes in the future. All basic skills will be covered including passing, setting, hitting, serving, defense, blocking, and offensive and defensive systems.
