Students respond to reading through a variety of creative channels including verbal, written, and hands-on activities. Diverse reading selections from the CHC Summer Reading Lists and other literary choices ensure an enjoyable and stimulating reading performance. In addition, teachers provide instruction on organizing and writing paragraphs, proofreading, and editing written work, and the reinforcement of grammar and punctuation rules. Students choose topics of their own interest and imagination to enjoy creative and expressive writing. The “Math Workshop” uses a multi-sensory, hands-on approach, making math all add up to fun. Students learn math concepts and problem-solving skills with meaningful connections that illustrate the value of mathematics to their world.
