Join one of CHC’s most popular afterschool programs as Mr. V offers another round of “the game of Kings.” Around for centuries, chess teaches critical-thinking and problem-solving skills, as well as mathematical and logical reasoning. Beginners and experts alike will learn how each piece moves along with game strategies, tactics, castling, en passant, promotions, and much more. Our most popular class!! Students will learn hip-hop dance technique including break dancing, footwork, and floorwork, freezes, as well as iconic hip-hop movements including the moonwalk, the cabbage patch, the kid in play, the snake, and more! Students collaborate and learn funky routines to some of the best beats around, and let their inner star shine through breakdance battles and more. Additional emphasis on style, contemporary choreography, movement vocabulary, beginner strengthening and conditioning, rhythm, personal expression, and having fun! The class culminates with a special performance for parents on the last day of the session where students will showcase learned routines as well as other material learned throughout the session, and be presented with a certificate. The pros from Soccer Shots return to Cape Henry after a fantastic fall session. This uniquely designed program introduces children to soccer in a fun, safe, and controlled environment.
