Young artists will envelop themselves in the world of clay while learning the techniques and tools commonly used in ceramics. Students will create imaginative works using a variety of methods including hand building, modeling, hollowing, extrusion, and slab building, wheel throwing, press molding, slip casting, and glazing.

If you love to write stories or poetry, join our weekly group for creative writing activities and challenges. Middle School writers will explore various prompts - fiction, description, opinion, and photo - and experiment with different styles of writing. During our last session, participants will be encouraged to display their best creative writing on the Middle School hallway bulletin board. Additionally, students will select pieces to share with the Cape Henry Community through a digital link in the Dolphin Digest. Composition books and folders will be provided - bring your favorite pens or pencils to unleash your creative side.
