  • Ceramics

    Young artists will envelop themselves in the world of clay while learning the techniques and tools commonly used in ceramics. Students will create imaginative works using a variety of methods including hand building, modeling, hollowing, extrusion, and slab building, wheel throwing, press molding, slip casting, and glazing.

    Dates: January 10, 17, 24, 31 February 7, 14, 21, and 28

  • Innovation Creations

    Have you ever wanted to utilize the Innovation Lab to create the projects stemming from your imagination? If so, join this brand new program as Mrs. Sara Pierce provides an opportunity to develop various projects using the materials found throughout the Innovation Lab here at CHC. Build boats using Legos designed to hold pennies on water, design bridges with K’nex to withstand the weight of textbooks, use the building blocks to create houses and other amazing structures, and even design courses for robot races. This program is sure to spark the curiosities and imagination in your students; Sign up today and join the action before space runs out!

  • Let's Write! - Creative Writing for Middle School Students

    If you love to write stories or poetry, join our weekly group for creative writing activities and challenges. Middle School writers will explore various prompts - fiction, description, opinion, and photo - and experiment with different styles of writing. During our last session, participants will be encouraged to display their best creative writing on the Middle School hallway bulletin board. Additionally, students will select pieces to share with the Cape Henry Community through a digital link in the Dolphin Digest. Composition books and folders will be provided - bring your favorite pens or pencils to unleash your creative side.
