Phenom (noun): A person who is outstandingly talented or admired, especially an up-and-comer.
Tanner Schaedel ‘24 has earned the January Fitness Phenom award by being the one of the most consistent and focused workers this winter. Tanner, a standout in three varsity sports, is almost always the first person in the gym and never misses an opportunity to push himself.
To date, Tanner has earned a bench press max of 200 pounds, a front squat max of 300 pounds, trap bar deadlift of 500, and vertical jump of 34.4 inches.
Last fall, Tanner helped lead CHC boys volleyball to a fourth consecutive TCIS Championship. This winter, Tanner has set track and field school records in the indoor shot put and indoor high jump and is a key part of the record-breaking 4x200m relay team.
Tanner is an all-around student-athlete with an earned calm confidence. He has a professional approach to his development that has already paid off, and will continue to pay dividends for years to come.
We wish Tanner luck as he pushes toward indoor track and field championship and looks forward to spring on the baseball field.
