- Athlete of the Week
Cape Henry Collegiate’s Girls Soccer Team just completed one of their most successful seasons in school history with a record of 13-2 and winning the TCIS Championship. The program’s first since 2014. As a Division I Semi-Finalist Team, this group brought a balanced approach in multiple areas of the pitch. Olivia Fout’s play in the middle of the field took this team to a whole new level. The Class of 2022 Auburn commit has many tools to include touch on the ball, an elusive attack on the goal, and the power and strength to yield off multiple defenders. Coach Tina Lowry notes, “Her strength winning the ball and with the ball are unparalleled. In games where most opponents ‘man-mark’ her, she was still able to wear them down with her relentless pursuit of the ball. With the ball at her feet, she was able to distribute precision passes and long balls, and create her own opportunities in and around 20-25 yards from the goal. Many of her unassisted goals came from dribbling from the midfield into the attack to give herself a small window for success. All of these skills are proven in her stats, tallying 15 goals and 3 assists. I have witnessed Goalkeepers not even realize they have been scored on with the way she strikes the ball. I have also watched her recognize her influence on the game and pick optimal moments to make her mark. Watching her and Bella Cooke carve up opponents was a true highlight as a coach. Olivia was recognized as the TCIS Tournament MVP, TCIS First Team Team honors, and an all-state nomination, soon to be announced.” All of this is incredible, to say the least; but also exciting to see her play in a Dolphin uniform next year. Congratulations, Oliva Fout, on deserved Athlete of the Week recognition!
