Curtain Up! Light the Lights!
Mrs. Alison Bugg, Nexus Operations Coordinator

Our CHC Dolphins took a huge bite out of the Big Apple during last week's Broadway Student Summit, a yearly workshop hosted in Manhattan by The Broadway Teaching Group.

The program is geared towards students who have a passion for musical theater, and connects our Cape Henry Collegiate students with the Broadway community!  Each interactive session has a specific focus, and gives our students the opportunity to act, sing and dance for (and with!) Broadway artists. Students also have the opportunity to be coached by both casting and resident directors currently working in the New York theater community and challenged to further develop their performance skills.

Of course, what better way to unwind after a long day of intensives than a night at the theater! Our CHC students and chaperones were able to enjoy performances at HadestownMJ (which included an exclusive talk-back with cast members after the curtain came down!), and Six. The group also found time to tour the campus of Marymount Manhattan College, and connect with recent CHC alumni who currently live (and learn!) in New York City.

Thank you to our dedicated program leaders, Mrs. Stephanie Fluharty and Mr. Justin Stanley, as well as our Nexus Global Studies staff members who were able to bring Broadway back to Cape Henry Collegiate!
