- Athlete of the Week
Athlete of the Week Parker Tiffany has begun the 2022-2023 season on an absolute tear, amassing the first individual tournament victory for Cape Henry Collegiate this season. Demonstrating exceptional leadership on and off the mats, Parker has solidified himself as a true leader of Dolphins wrestling. A mainstay in the wrestling room before the season began, Parker is now reaping the benefits of hard work and dedication to the craft. With a real shot at CHC’s 12th TCIS regular season title, Parker and varsity wrestling have their eyes set on an undefeated conference season.
“Parker Tiffany is a leader and mentor on the Cape Henry wrestling team. Parker started this varsity wrestling journey in the 8th grade, and five years later, he is truly shining. This week was incredible for Cape Henry wrestling, and Parker held a pivotal role in that success,” Head Coach Josh Conklin said. “Parker began the week bumping up a weight class and earning six points for the team with a pin over Norfolk Academy. Parker followed up with a 1st place finish at Paul VI’s Panther Invitational, defeating the #1 ranked wrestler in the weekend’s tournament. Parker demonstrated strength, focus, dedication and determination through his incredible performances this week and modeled perfectly what a Cape Henry Athlete of the Week should be!”
Boasting a 4-1 dual record, Cape Henry Collegiate sits atop the TCIS standings behind a victory over Norfolk Academy on Wednesday afternoon. With Parker continuing the season’s streak of a top-five finisher in tournament play, Cape Henry Collegiate is poised for several strong state performances late in the year. Taking on many of the state’s competitions early in the season, Parker and the team look to leave their mark on Cape Henry’s long, storied wrestling history.
Next up for Parker and Dolphins wrestling, Cape Henry Collegiate will travel to Williamsburg for the annual Ram Rumble at Lafayette High School, beginning Friday, January 20, and continuing Saturday, January 21.
