The Cape Henry Collegiate Alumni Association and the Alumni Board is dedicated to keeping our graduates engaged with the larger school community and connected with each other. Throughout the year, the Alumni Board provides opportunities to reconnect through social events, networking, mentoring and stewardship opportunities.
Mr. Terrell Allen ‘10 attended Central Connecticut State University on a full basketball scholarship and turned his passion for the sport into a career. Mr. Allen has experience as a former college basketball coach and youth program director, and currently owns his business, ETC Sport Group, that operates basketball tournaments and events. Mr. Allen and his wife Emily have two children, Harlow and Luca.
After graduating from CHC in 2016, Mr. Hunter Atherton attended Virginia Tech where he double majored in Building Construction and Real Estate. He graduated from Virginia Tech in 2020 and began his career at Whiting-Turner working in general contracting. Mr. Atherton resides in Virginia Beach and is currently working in commercial development for Atherton Construction and Development Inc.
Mrs. Anne Freeman Brooks ’14 loves to give back to Cape Henry Collegiate. During her time at the Cape, her favorite classes were journalism with Mrs. Kisa and photography with Mr. Warden. Mrs. Freeman-Brooks credits CHC with helping her find her creative voice by engaging with the community through storytelling. Now, she runs her own video production business and continues to tell Cape Henry stories through her video work!
Mrs. Stephanie Jarvis Caskill ‘05 attended Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA, where she received her degree in biology. After college, she moved back to Virginia Beach to work part-time for her mother's real estate team while she prepped for graduate programs in the medical field. During that time she found that her passion was real estate instead of biology. She quickly transitioned her career plans to begin a full-time administrative role on the team. Over the last 14 years, Mrs. Jarvis Caskill has grown from assistant to agent and is now the team leader of The Linda Fox-Jarvis Team with Berkshire Hathaway, one of the most successful real estate teams in Hampton Roads. Mrs. Jarvis Caskill has been married ten years to her husband Tyler, and they have a five-year old daughter Carter, who is currently enrolled in the prekindergarten program at Cape Henry!
Mrs. Laney Ettel ’12 attended Cape Henry Collegiate from 1st grade through high school graduation. During her time at CHC she played tennis and lacrosse, winning conference or state titles in both. She was also involved in the Nexus Global Studies program, through which she visited The Bahamas, Loas, Thailand, Galapagos Islands, and Namibia. Mrs. Ettel went on to Virginia Tech and graduated with a degree in construction engineering and management. She worked in Los Angeles for two years after college before moving back home to Virginia Beach. She is now a project manager for MEB, a local construction company behind Cape Henry’s current expansion project. Mrs. Ettel spends her time traveling, snowboarding and going to the beach with her friends, many of them from her days at CHC!
Mr. Corey Jones ‘18 graduated with a bachelor's in finance from Old Dominion University. He has since started to build his financial advisory practice, partnering with First Financial Group, where he’s worked since 2022. Mr. Jones is from a 5th generation family in Virginia Beach where they have owned and operated businesses since the 1800s. When not working or volunteering in the community you can find him on a golf course, or on a boat fishing in the ocean or the bay. Mr. Jones credits Cape Henry for being a major influence in his life by helping him find some of his best friends and expanding his network.
Dr. Coles Keeter ’10 graduated from James Madison University in 2014 with a degree in integrated science and technology. He then obtained his master’s in biotechnology from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2015. After working for LifeNet Health for a year, he returned to EVMS and obtained his Ph.D. in biomedical sciences in January of 2023. Dr. Keeter is currently pursuing a career in medical communications, where he will consult with pharmaceutical and biotech industries in developing educational and promotional materials for emerging medicines and healthcare technologies. He and his wife Gabby live in Virginia Beach with their two cats, Stevie and Meatloaf.
Mr. Matt Kennedy ‘12 was a three sport varsity athlete, competing in Dolphins lacrosse, wrestling and volleyball. He was also involved in the Upper School SCA for three years, as well as the peer leader program. Mr. Kennedy played NCAA lacrosse for Florida Institute of Technology before transferring due to injury to the University of South Carolina. He graduated from the University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s in marine science. After college, Mr. Kennedy was involved coaching the boys lacrosse team at Cape Henry. Currently employed as a field engineer for Cottrell Contracting Corporation, Mr. Kennedy is involved with marine dredging projects up and down the East Coast. He spends his free time traveling around the world fly fishing in remote locations.
Mr. Luke Kohart ‘10 has worked with Haycox Financial Group for five years. He came on board after spending three and a half years with the Frieden Agency and Signator Investors. Through building trusting relationships with individuals, families, and businesses, Mr. Kohart works to assure them that their financial futures are in great hands. Born and raised in Virginia Beach, Mr. Kohart returned to the area after graduating Radford University in 2014 with a bachelor’s in communication.
Mr. Phil Reichhoff ‘12 not only serves on the Cape Henry Collegiate Alumni Board, he is also an employee and coach at the School. He came to CHC from the Washington Wizards, where he worked directly with the NBA organization assisting with all elements of performance. Prior to his stop in D.C., Mr. Reichhoff worked at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he oversaw the development of track and field throwers, mens and womens tennis, and mens golf. He also earned a master’s degree from the VCU Center for Sport Leadership. Mr. Reichhoff broke into the coaching profession at East Carolina University, where he assisted with the strength and conditioning training of all 16 NCAA Division I athletic programs. He also has spent time working at the Dutch Olympic Training Center and studying internationally in England, Ireland and France.
Mr. Scott Van Gilder ‘91 attended George Mason University and earned a degree in communication and political science. He spent three years working for a senator on Capitol Hill before moving home to Virginia Beach. Mr. Van Gilder has been in medical device sales for more than 25 years and currently is the Principal of VG Medical, an independent distributor of spinal implants for back and neck surgery. Mr. Van Gilder’s wife Iryna is a very active volunteer at CHC and serves as a Middle School representative, CHPA member and co-chair of the Grand Auction. The Van Gilders have two boys at the School. Mr. Van Gilder’s hobbies include cooking gourmet meals with his wife for family and friends, coaching little league baseball, and fishing in the bay.
Mr. Clay Willis ‘17 was senior class president during the last of his 13 years at Cape Henry Collegiate. In addition to participating in a variety of extracurriculars and clubs, Mr. Willis was a three-sport athlete during his final two years at the Cape, competing in baseball, soccer and swimming. He went on to spend four years in Winston-Salem, North Carolina where he attended Wake Forest University to study political science, international relations and history. Mr. Willis has since returned to Virginia Beach and now spends his days assisting local businesses as a commercial real estate agent. Clay is an active swimmer, surfer and photographer, and enjoys spending his time at the Oceanfront or on the Chesapeake Bay. When he is not hard at work, Clay can be found on one of the many golf courses around Virginia Beach trying to perfect his game.
