Cape Henry’s Nexus Global Studies program expands students’ awareness and understanding of different cultures and perspectives, both in the classroom and experientially through travel.
Nexus engages students from prekindergarten through 12th grade in a comprehensive, integrated curriculum that stretches them intellectually, emotionally and socially.

Today, Nexus Global Studies is renowned among independent schools for its innovative approach to expanding students’ global and cultural awareness through amazing travel experiences. Over the past 20 years, Cape Henry students have traveled to more than 58 countries and territories, from Morocco and South Africa to Papua New Guinea and Bhutan.
Although Mrs. Kirsten Visman ‘93 has called more than 10 countries around the world home, there is one place that stands out: Cape Henry Collegiate.
This year, the Middle School brought back its Around the World Breakfast for the first time since the pandemic halted the annual tradition.
