Firsthand Experience
Language and cultural immersion programs allow students to develop advanced foreign language and communication skills in real-world settings.
Cape Henry’s Nexus Program is recognized as one of the leading global studies programs in the country. This groundbreaking program engages students in a comprehensive curriculum that fosters an awareness of the global community through academic studies, cultural and language immersion, real-world research, field study and service-learning projects that stretch them intellectually, emotionally, spiritually. Nexus seeks to introduce students to a wide variety of stimulating experiences. Students have the opportunity to travel overseas and experience diverse cultures, explore varied ecosystems, and immerse themselves in the language of their choosing.
As one of the founding members of the Global Education Benchmark Group, Cape Henry leverages partnerships with international sister schools and communities as well as numerous educational organizations and foundations, such as the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute (STRI), and St. George’s University, just to name just a few.
At Cape Henry, the Nexus program is integrated into the curriculum at all grade levels. Field-study opportunities range from the Grade 4 Museum of Mathematics program to the Grade 12 program for interested seniors.
