Cape Henry provides generous benefits that meet the needs of our faculty and staff at all stages of their lives. We also believe in rewarding employees for job well done and we offer competitive salaries in the area. The following is a list of the fringe benefits and related support provided to faculty and staff:
Cape Henry auto-enrolls all eligible employees to receive the maximum 7% salary match, while contributing only 3%. Employees who wish to contribute 0% still receive a 5% match. Employee contributions can be made on a pre-tax or Roth basis through TIAA.
All full-time employees receive tuition remission of 40% per child enrolled at Cape Henry.
Medical and Prescription Drug Insurance
Cape Henry offers eligible employees the opportunity to enroll in one of four medical plan options through Optima including two high deductible Health Savings Account (HSA) plans and two traditional options. Cape Henry contributes an average of 80% toward the cost of the premium and employees can choose to enroll dependents in the plan. Plan premiums are deducted on a pre-tax basis.
Dental & Vision Insurance
Cape Henry offers eligible employees the opportunity to participate in voluntary dental and vision plans. Both plans offer coverage for preventative, basic and major services. Premiums are deducted on a pre-tax basis.
Flexible Spending Account /Health Savings Account
Cape Henry offers eligible employees the opportunity to participate in either a medical Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and a Health Savings Account (HSA). Both plans are deducted on a pre-tax basis and can be used toward medical expenses throughout the year. Eligible employees can also enroll in a pre-tax dependent care FSA.
529 Education Savings Plan
Cape Henry provides eligible employees the opportunity to enroll in the 529 savings plan for K-12 and college tuition and expenses. Contributions are VA state tax deductible and earnings grow on a tax-free basis.
Cape Henry provides eligible employees life insurance coverage equal to 1.5 times the employee’s annual salary. The premium is paid 100% by Cape Henry.
Long-Term Disability Insurance
Cape Henry provides eligible employees a long-term disability benefit at 60% of the employee’s annual salary. The premium is paid 100% by Cape Henry.
Additional Voluntary Benefits
Cape Henry offers a number of voluntary benefits including life, gap, cancer indemnity, accident and hospital insurance, and a legal benefits plan.
Personal Computer Purchase Program
Employees may purchase computers for personal use through monthly payroll deduction, with an interest-free loan.
Extended School Day Program
On-site after school care is available throughout the entire school year and during the summer through Cape Henry’s Summer at the Cape program.
The Preston Scot Creech Fitness Center located on campus is available for employee use in order to encourage wellness.
Lunch is provided to all employees during the school year on campus.
Cape Henry offers comprehensive mentoring program for all new faculty and staff.
